Hammamet

Tommorrow we are taking some time out from work, and the kids from their school work to visit the seaside town of Hammamet. I have a personal connection to this place as my grandfather landed here during WW2 after escaping the Germans on Crete. He drifted in the mediterrainean to arrive here right before the war ended. His story inspired our first visit to Tunisia in 1999.

Hammamet is very pretty and as the name suggests is known for it’s hammams. I am looking forward to a good scrub! This photo is of a traditional hammam, this is the resting space.
